I made this to practice gentle curves. I like it. It’s wonky around the edges, which had me worried for a while. However, it seems to be the right size and I’m reasonably certain that the wonk will go away once there’s sashing around the edges. Thank heavens for that, and for quilting – that crease is annoying.

Wow! What a wonderful block! Did you design it?

Thanks Robin! The pattern is from Electric Quilt 6 (copyright free). They call it ‘Star and Crescent’ but that to my mind is a totally different block.
I’ve posted a PDF pattern on the patterns page.

Hey, that’s OK! This is for my own sampler that’s going to have a lot of Dear Jane blocks in. You can see its progress under the ‘Works in Progress’ tab, or scroll to the very first post of my blog to read the idea for it.
I love the Jane Stickle quilt, but I don’t want to make every block. I don’t like them all and there are so many other lovely blocks to try as well that use other skills. Plus I want to practice drafting for myself, not use the book. Good luck with your quilt.
I had a look at your blog: you might want to try buying the ‘Dear Jane’ book and then joining the ‘Dear Baby Jane’ blog group. Anina puts up wonderful instructions, there’s no pressure to work at her pace, and there’s lots of friendly advice from others too.
